Welcome to Rockwood!

Nearly 21,000 students are enrolled in Rockwood schools. The district’s 30 schools and supporting programs collectively make up one of the highest performing school districts in the state and nation.

At Rockwood, we believe a strong character education program is the foundation for our students and their learning - both inside and outside of the classroom. Rockwood was designated as a National District of Character, which reflects our dedication to character development relating to academic achievement, student behavior and school climate.

Rockwood has consistently earned the accreditation of Distinction in Performance by the Missouri Department of Education. This is the highest rating a school district can achieve on its Annual Performance Report. Our premier school district is noted for its high student achievement, outstanding teachers and staff, and great community support.

WEB Program

The WEB program, or
Where Everybody Belongs, is active in middle schools and high schools. Older students mentor younger students and model lessons in character education, anti-bullying and positive school climate.

The Leader in Me program has been used as a model in several Rockwood elementary and middle schools.

With more than 21,000 students, Rockwood is the largest school district in St. Louis County. In addition, the district’s 19 elementary schools, six middle schools and four high schools collectively make up one of the highest performing school districts in the country.

Partners In Education

Partners in Education links community resources to Rockwood classrooms. PIE facilitators partner with volunteers willing to share their expertise or special talents with students.

This community connection enhances curriculum, making learning more meaningful and relevant for students’ education.

Community Education

The Community Education partnership between the Rockwood and Parkway School Districts serves as a model for districts across the country.

It offers a broad range of programs and services including aquatics, adult education and literacy, enrichment, outdoor education, school-age care, sports and visual and performing arts.

Parkway-Rockwood Community Education
