The district recognizes that honesty in academic endeavors is essential and the basis for true success. The district, therefore, will not tolerate any form of academic dishonesty including plagiarism or "the taking of ideas or writings from someone else and presenting them as one's own" (Webster's New World, 1996).
It shall be a violation of policy for students to take credit for work other than their own. This would include, but not be limited to, the use of technological sources, purchased papers, books, periodicals, interviews, and research abstracts without attribution and/or authorization. It shall also be a violation of policy to cheat on assignments and assessments.
Students who violate this policy are subject to consequences as outlined in Board of Education Regulation 2611.
