Rockwood School social workers are instrumental in furthering the mission of our school district by providing a caring environment for teaching, learning, and for the attainment of competence and confidence. They are trained professionals who assist with mental health concerns, behavioral concerns, positive behavioral support, academic and classroom support, consultation with teachers, parents and administrators. They also provide individual and group counseling/therapy.

Educational Rights to Privacy Act
The Rockwood School District complies fully with the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA). FERPA is a federal law that affords parents and students 18 years of age and older certain rights with respect to the student’s educational records.

The district has determined that the Voluntary Interdistrict Choice Corporation (VICC) and its officers, employees and agents are school officials with legitimate educational interests because they act for and on behalf of the district with respect to transfer students and the transfer program, and because they seek to advance the interest of both. A transfer student’s attendance records and other educational records relevant to the student’s participation in the program or to the program itself may accordingly be disclosed to VICC without obtaining written consent from the parent/guardian or eligible student.
