I have some important news to share with you. Our Rockwood School Board has approved a bond issue for the April 4 ballot. Named Prop T, the bond issue would not raise the current Rockwood tax rate. It would address increases in student enrollment due to new housing developments under construction. Plus, it also supports our Rockwood students through innovative learning spaces and STEM education.
Some Prop T projects include the construction of a new elementary school in Eureka to address increased student enrollment and re-purposing the existing school for early childhood education program. In addition, the bond issue will expand the implementation of the one-to-one technology program in our middle and high schools.
I encourage you to learn more about this bond issue. Rockwood will be sharing more information as we move toward Election Day on April 4.
