​ANNOUNCEMENTS​​


​​For students interested in attending South Tech, here is a timeline​:

September – 10th Grade students should apply for fall 2019 Admission to South Tech.  Online applications are encouraged.  http://southtechnical.org/application/
October- Admission Rounds begin for fall 2019 applicants- students will get notified of admission via email and mail.  Admission is based on a rubric score using documents such as transcripts, attendance percentage and citizenship records.
November 1st- 5-7pm -South Tech Open House – encourage freshmen and sophomores to attend. This is the best opportunity for students to meet the teachers and visit the classrooms.  We will have current students here to show off their projects and answer questions.   
April – Newly ADMITTED students for fall 2019 will be invited to an Orientation Evening.
PRESENTATIONS & TOURS- The best time for sophomores to hear a presentation or take a tour of Tech would be in the fall since they need to apply early.  Freshmen visits and presentations typically occur in the spring.
ADMISSIONS ROUNDS- Admissions rounds will occur throughout the year.  We will admit a small number of students in the first few rounds to insure all students have time to apply but will fill programs by January 17th

​GENERAL GUIDANCE INFORMATION

Our guidance and counseling program includes:​

  1. CURRICULUM consists of classroom lessons and large group presentations

  2. INDIVIDUAL PLANNING consists of activities that help all students plan, monitor, and manage their own learning as well as their personal and career development.                   

  3. RESPONSIVE SERVICES consists of activities to meet immediate needs and concerns of students.

  4. SYSTEM SUPPORT consists of management activities that establish, maintain, and enhance the total guidance program.

The Guidance Department at Rockwood Summit is here to assist students to make good choices concerning their High School career.

The following is a list of Graduation Requirements for students'

Eight semesters of attendance plus the following course work:

Personal Finance Proficiency met through personal finanace or economics courses​

Health Education 1/2 credit
Electives   7 1/2 credits
TOTAL    24
Speech Proficiency Completed through language arts coursework
Missouri and Federal Constitution Exams taken during United States government course
Credits needed to advance in grade level:

6 Credits - 10th Grade
12 Credits - 11th Grade
17​​ Credits - 12th Grade

Students may be reclassified at the end of each semester and summer academy.  If you have questions regarding your grade level contact your counselor.

Guidance Office Hours:

The Guidance Office is open daily Monday - Friday from 7:3​0 a.m. to 4:00 pm. Counselors are available, 8:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Monday through Friday.  To schedule an appointment with your counselor contact Mrs. Liz Tucci.  Mrs. Tucci will help you find a time that is best for you and your counselor.
